Daniel and
Rebekah
Daniel was firstborn of two children to a Christian family on November 23rd
1979 in Whittier, California to Robert (age 20) and Kerry Ann Cavazos (age
18) approximately 1 year after our wedding that was held on September 10th
1978. Daniel’s sister Jennifer is
currently married to Christopher Wolf and has a baby daughter Rebekah of 1
year old.
Daniel was the
first to be born to a new generation of children of our family tree. His
roots are from, Greece, Spain, England, and Sicily respectfully.
Being the first
in the new generation, Daniel had all the attention of the immediate family. He was home school from 4th
grade to collage and was respectfully spoiled throughout his life.
His first love was fishing -- then he loved to fish --
and finally he liked to spend his time fishing. Daniels other hobbies and
activities included anything that evolved spending time with friends. This
includes, Golfing, Sporting Clay’s, Shooting, Archery, Motor cycle riding,
Off-roading, roller skating, skate boarding, Skim Board Surfing, Surfing,
Bowling, Skiing Snow & Water, Remote Control Car Racing, Remote Control
Airplane and Helicopter Flying, Swim Team, Running, Triathlon competition
with his Sister and Sight Seeing.
On the professional side, Daniel was finishing up his Associates
Degree in Science and an Engineering Certificate. Daniel earned a
living from being a Mechanical Drafter & Systems Planner/Designer. He
was proficient in the Tool & Die industry, Solid Edge V9, V10 with approximately 3000 hours of use, Auto-Cad
release's 14, 2000, 2002. With approximately 2500 hours of use between the
three. Daniel never had a problem acquiring a well paying job with
this background.
Daniel’s decision to join the Navy came when realized
that his education was being left on hold. By joining the Navy he felt that
he could finish his education and work towards an Officers Position to
satisfy his requirements for supporting a family and finally receive a full
retirement from the Navy. He enlisted into the Navy and was sent to Naval Education
and Training Command in Great Lakes, IL for “Boot
camp” and finished top of his class. After Graduation he signed up for
Yeoman (A petty officer performing chiefly clerical duties in the U.S.
Navy.) and received training in Louisiana - again finishing top of his
class. From there Daniel was assigned to Sasebo, Japan for 3 years.
Before going to Sasebo, Daniel returned home for a few
weeks to visit family and friends. This was a special time for all of us.
We got to see the benefits of what the Navy has done to transform Daniel
from a boy to a man in just a few short months. Daniels last visit was a
special time of love and fellowship for each member of his family and his
close friends.
During Daniels life
- God - Family and Friends loved him. Daniels accident happened when
he was stationed in Sasebo, Japan only 9 days after his arrival. He was
involved in a traffic accident while being transferred by Military Personnel
between Military installations.
Daniel Robert Cavazos age 25 was received into
the loving hands of God on November 10th 2005. Daniel will surly
be missed by all.
Parents Prayer
Heavenly Father - Thank You…
You created the world with your word - you gave
life to all mankind - because of mankind’s sin - death entered into the
world.
You gave of yourself to redeem mankind by sending
Jesus to die for the sin of all mankind – that through his perfect life –
death no longer separates us from you.
I thank you for allowing us to raise your child –
Daniel. I could only hope that you are proud of what we have accomplished
during his stay with us.
We loved Daniel - we cared for Daniel – we know
that you will take care of Daniel now that he is with you.
This is the promise we hold on to as we progress
though this world - to be with you, Daniel and the rest of our family and
friends forever…
